This Holiday Season, Share a Cocktail

This holiday season, try some delicious cocktails made with fresh juice – and share them with your friends, family, or your customers. Fresh citrus juices are the perfect base for many easy cocktails that require only a few ingredients yet boast incredible flavor – and even a healthy dose of Vitamin C!

If you own or manage a grocery or gourmet store and offer freshly squeezed juice, why not print up some nice cocktail recipe cards to share with your customers? Place them in a basket or rack next to the bottles of freshly squeezed juice or next to your self-service juicer. People buying your juice can simply grab a card and try the recipe at home. They will love your fresh-juice cocktail ideas and come back for more – recipes and juice! For a few recipe suggestions, see below.

If you own or manage a restaurant or bar, you probably have a number of trusted cocktail recipes your customers can enjoy at your location. If you’re already using freshly squeezed citrus juices for your drinks, you’ll know that they can elevate an ordinary cocktail to an extraordinary level. If you haven’t been working with fresh juices, give it a try and share the new experience with your customers! They will love it and come back for more!

Citrocasa Revolution

If you are someone who simply likes to mix and enjoy a good cocktail at home, give freshly squeezed a try. Next time you go to your grocery store, grab a bottle of freshly squeezed lime or orange juice and use it in your own recipes. Or try some of the recipes listed below. At this year’s holiday gathering, prepare some fresh-juice cocktails from scratch – your friends and family will love it! And, don’t forget to share the recipes.

In the spirit of holiday sharing, we are providing the measurements below for 2 servings, so you can enjoy a cocktail with a friend or your spouse. For single or group servings, simply divide or multiply the amounts accordingly:

7 oz freshly squeezed pink grapefruit juice

1 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice

1 oz orange liqueur

4 oz of vodka

Measure all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with about 2 tablespoons of crushed ice. Shake well and strain into chilled martini glasses. Add a wedge of grapefruit for each (optional) and enjoy!

Tip: try the same recipe with tangerine, clementine, or orange juice – it’s delicious!

3 oz Limoncello

1 ½ oz orange-flavored vodka

2 oz freshly squeezed lime juice

Raw sugar for glass

Dip two cocktail glasses in a saucer of water to moisten the rim, then roll the glass rim in raw sugar to coat. Pour the vodka, Limoncello, and lime juice into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake, strain into glasses with ice, and enjoy!

2 oz Campari

8 oz freshly squeezed blood orange juice

Orange flavored soda

Garnish: Thin slices of blood orange and mint sprig (optional)

Put ice cubes in 2 rock glasses, add Campari, orange juice and just a splash of orange flavored soda to each. Garnish and enjoy!

By the way, blood oranges are super healthy, because of their high levels of antioxidants.

4 oz vanilla vodka

4 oz Cointreau liquor

16-20 oz of freshly squeezed orange juice

Combine and serve in a tall glass over ice.

4 oz gin

4 oz freshly squeezed orange juice

2 oz freshly squeezed lime juice

Ginger ale

Combine all ingredients except for ginger ale in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into tall glass over ice cubes. Fill up the glass with ginger ale. Enjoy!

6 oz apple cider

4 oz freshly squeezed orange juice

2 oz cranberry juice cocktail

2 oz spice rum

2 oz whiskey

1 oz dark brown sugar

¼ teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice

Orange slices and cinnamon sticks for garnish (optional)

Combine everything in a pot and heat on medium-low for about 10 minutes. Serve in heat-proof mugs or glasses and enjoy!

Be creative with freshly squeezed juices. They work very well with a variety of liquors and ingredients. Share your creative ideas with your customers and with friends – it is, after all, the sharing season. And always drink responsibly!
